The l'Oustal gîte is a family home located in the heart of the small village of Lunel (377 inhabitants), 16 km from Conques. On the plateau at an altitude of 630m, the air is fresh and healthy, ideal for lovely walks in the countryside. Whenever the house is renovated, the owners make a point of using local craftsmen. The new part of the kitchen was made by Jean Claude the joiner (the wall units were preserved for their vintage cachet). The bathroom was designed by Jacky the plumber. In Lunel, a farming village, there are plenty of good places to eat (bakery with organic bread, traditional poultry breeder Maison Quintard...) and the locals take the time to chat.
The villages of Conques and the Lot Valley (Estaing, Entraygues, etc.) are just a few kilometres away and have plenty of character. The Parc de l'Aubrac and the Parc des Grands Causse on the way to the Millau Viaduct and the Caves de Roquefort promise some great walks. The Pierre Soulages museum, 30km from Rodez, is a must for art lovers.
The gîte allows you to disconnect, to get back to basics and simplicity. What's more, the house is cool in summer.
