The Sajac Promontory Hamlet, located in Southern Aveyron at the end of the paved road, is a former self-sufficient mixed-farming estate (active until 1980). It has been gradually renovated by the farmer's daughter and her husband, who sought to preserve the original layout and architecture of the various buildings—houses, stables, barns, bread ovens, a chestnut drying shed, and a small kiln—as much as possible.
From the promontory where Sajac sits—within the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park—you overlook the Tarn Valley, enjoying a panoramic view of meadows and wooded hills. Visit UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Albi and the Causses and Cévennes area. The old barn has been transformed into a charming, light-filled holiday home with spacious interiors that highlight the original timber framework. The open 15 m² terrace leading to the house offers a private space facing the landscape—a truly peaceful spot! Brousse-le-Château, located 7 km away, is classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France."
In the evening and at night, enjoy the cool air rising from the Tarn River below (800 m away, with a 300 m drop in elevation), which has been developed for fishing; the finish line for the longest Tarn canoe route is located almost directly beneath the hamlet. Well-maintained paths around the hamlet offer delightful walks through nature—amidst downy oaks, chestnut trees, and conifers—and connect to neighboring hamlets.
